Calling all trick-or-treaters — Peoria Business news

Hundreds checked out Evanston’s newest Halloween attraction, the Harley Clarke Mansion, 2603 Sheridan Road. The historic lakefront house was thrown open for free for the first time in years for trick-or-treaters and will be open again from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday for Halloween. Organizers will turn up the fright factor for teenagers and adults from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday. That’s Kelly Fitzsimmons, whose company Light Up Your Holidays was hired to spook-ify the mansion. The development firm Celadon plans to spend $30 million to restore the century-old mansion and turn it into an events center and community space. Construction is planned to start in spring.
