Fryer fire breaks out at Rock Falls McDonald’s

No one was injured Friday morning when a fire broke out at the McDonald’s restaurant in Rock Falls.Rock Falls firefighters were called about 9 a.m. to McDonald’s, 1003 First Ave., for a report of a fryer fire, according to a fire department news release. Crews arrived on scene within two minutes and found that restaurant staff had activated the fire suppression system above the fryer. Fire crews found that the fire had been contained to the fryer and did not spread. Crews cleared the scene at 9:50 a.m. The Sterling Fire Department, CGH EMS and the Whiteside County Health Department assisted at the scene.
